Not sure if Ross 'The Toss' Coxon won it or lost it but on a beautiful evening at Etwall we batted first again ... making about the same number of runs in 20 overs as we had made in 40 overs in the previous game against Sutton on the Hill! But as one chap from Etwall (the one with the upside down smile during a period when we were hitting some boundaries) retorted to Brian after one of his famously inflammatory comments (about 'how well we were batting') whilst umpiring "anyone could hit bowling of this standard".

Howard was the first to retire 25 (having possibly collected some of Carpo's runs along the way) followed by Carpo a few overs later. For once, yours truly managed put bat on ball and for the first time in however many years that we have played this fixture, managed a retirement instead of the usual out for just a few runs trying to knock the leather off the ball! Rob Coxon batted well and also reached the 25 retiment runs despite Brian's early comment that "He's hitting it well" which normally signals the end of someone's innings within 3 balls.

So, having been set a target of 124 to win and facing a Sunseekers side who were short of just one regular bowler, Etwall moved steadily towards their win. An acceleration brought scores level at the end of an over. Ross called on me to bowl and unsportingly I dished up a wide first ball, thus removing the batsman's 'chance for glory' to win the match!
