Derby Engineers

After a bit of scratching around, we ended up with 10 players, thanks to Karl agreeing to play at the last minute. After setting up stall about 2 miles from the pavillion to save a huge walk to the middle, we batted first. Things moved slowly owing to some good bowling and fielding from the engineers. Still, we had something to bowl at even if it wasn't as much as we would have liked.
Engineers started quickly, with the Weebil (although he was too young to know what one actually was) smashing his usual 25 in about 3 balls. I do not have the scorebook but I am sure that everyone bowled well. Karl was quick but sprayed it about a bit with some absolute purlers that deserved wickets. The ball that gave him success was quite wide and their batsman did not really need to play it. Micky Wenn ran around a bit, i think he may have taken a catch and also fell over and thereby stopped a four. He did not need to ask the opposition for a fielder of the match, guess to whom he awarded the honours!
