Timed game (at Hanbury & Draycott CC):
Sunseekers 179-5 (45 overs) (P Downes 43, Greasley 41, Bennett 29no, Williamson 30)
Belper Police 135-7 (unsure of how many wickets fell)
Sunseekers won by 45 runs

Beautiful setting for a game of cricket, even if it was between two sides with 10- men (or Belper Police's 9 + 1 of ours)

The visitors' captain didn't appear to be that clear on the rules of a timed game, which seemed to appeal to Captain Wenn. So we batted first and tremendous contributions from Paul Downes and Stuart Greasley formed a solid spine for the innings.
Matt Williamson blasted a quickfire 30 while Brian Bennett's masterclass 29 not out was another highlight.

Defending this total was helped by apparent confusion over how many overs were left, what time the final hour started and where the hell are we anyway.

So Belper Police found themselves way behind the scoring rate and surprised, even, when the game ended and they were still 45 short.

I didn't write down any bowling figures from the book, so I don't know who took the wickets. (Apart from Nicholls, who took 2-9 in three overs, including removing the dangerous left hander for 83)
Maybe the other figures can be added later...
