Sunseekers who were catapulted to greatness (or something like that)

GARETH HARRY

The son of legendary old Sunseeker Dave Harry launched his glittering cricket career as a teenager with Sunseekers, and, as far as we are aware, is the only ex-Sunseeker to play Derbyshire Premier League cricket, with Wirksworth, where, now claiming still to be only 29, he is currently the first team wicketkeeper in County League Division One.

MATTHEW WILLIAMSON

The son of occasional Sunseeker David Williamson arrived at the club as a skinny 15-year-old and left as a stout 20-odd-year-old in search of high-quality league cricket and a stack of alternative careers, including milkman and policeman. Has taken a stack of wickets for Rosehill Methodists. But not lately.
UPDATE: By a remarkable coincidence, an email from Matthew has now been received. Please be aware (and prepare to doff your caps with suitable respect) that he is now Sergeant Matthew Williamson, operating out of Chesterfield, living in Mickleover, and still playing for Rosehill.

TOM WALTON

Floppy haired schoolteacher whose big highlight in three seasons with Sunseekers was a brilliant century in a remarkable 230+ run chase pulled off at Denby. Tom, a mathematical and statistical genius who usually knew how many balls he had faced, let alone how many runs he'd made, moved to Cromford and now plays for Cromford Meadows.

NIGEL DUFFILL

Determined batsman and solid wicketkeeper who is climbing the cricketing ladder steadily. Nigel began his career with Boosemoor, before transferring to Sunseekers and, this season, has stepped up again to become a regular with Sutton on the Hill. Expert observers have calculated that this rate of progress, if continued, will see Nigel knocking on the England selectors' door at the age of 174. If he were to return to Sunseekers at that age, would stand a chance of breaking the club's age record, established this season by Brian Bennett at 142.
