I have always been one to embrace super new technology, for example I have recently moved from these:

to this when I umpire.

It is a super idea and it has not taken me many years to master it. While I was thinking of what to say when there was an LBW appeal, I started to think about some other marvellous bits of modern technology. I tell you, I have done a bit of Woodwork in my time, I know woodwork. Super trade to have learnt. I gather that they use things called nails now to hold bits of wood together. I have even managed to find a picture:

I believe that there is a super tool called a hammer that is used to fit them. I think some Yorkshire bloke called Peter knows about these but I can't seem to get hold of him. Oh well! We used to use slates in my youth, marvellous things, you could wipe them clean and use them time and time again. Super. Then the blasted Egyptians invented paper, then what, out went slates and in came books. Actually, they are not that bad now that I have got used to them. Bloomin' marvellous eh? We could never fit the averages summary on the slate. I dunno if you have come across this latest thing though, I have forgotten its name but here is a picture:
